How to carry out Beta testing for Android app

To initiate a publication request of beta testing via OMA portal https://oma-portal.orange.fr,

• Go from "new request" on homepage
  --> "submit a new version"
  --> choose app, Google Play Store and type "Beta", click "send" button
  
  
• Go through the steps of "app info" to "quality review" as usual: for an app for which the beta testing is the first publication, the same store infos are required for a normal app public release; for an app which is already published previously in public release, the store infos of "beta testing" can not be modified, it will be the same as the published public release
  
  
• Once the app is validated by Google Play, the project team will provide the list of testers
  OMA Portal Step > Store Submission
  
  The list of tester file must follow the requirements: a .CSV file, put each valid Google account on its own line without any commas. No other type of line are accepted.
  

To make sure that the publication process of beta testing go smoothly, pay attention to several points:

• the tester must provide their valid Google account with which they use to access Google Play store on their Android device
• the project team is responsible to send the download link of testing app (indicated in the notification email sent by OMA support when the app is published)
• the download link of testing app is composed in the format: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/APP_PACKAGE_NAME
• the tester must open the download link in web browser on their Android device, while logged in with their Google account provided for testing at the same time, and accept to become tester for the first installation

After the beta version is published, it is possible to transfer it directly to public release:
Go from "new request" on home page,
--> "submit a new version"
--> choose app, Google Play Store and type "Public release", if the beta version is available, it will be proposed
