Ecodesign aims to reduce the environmental footprint of a product or service throughout their entire lifecycle by including environmental consideration from the design stage to its end of life, through its production, use, and disposal.
In 2025, 100% of Orange brand products will have to follow an ecodesign approach.
The ecodesign approach as it has been defined within the Group takes place in 4 key stages during which the project team is supported by an ecodesign Lead:
- Make sure you have the necessary prerequisites for the process
- Define the environmental strategy of your product or service
- Integrate environmental requirements into the specifications
- Implement the identified actions
This approach must be initiated as early as possible before the marketing brief and the RFI / RFP, by involving the different stakeholders: marketing, design, technical, etc. Co-reflection is crucial, because it determines the essential impact of the upcoming product/service. It is the heart of the transformation of our processes.
For any eco-design support, you can contact software.ecodesign@orange.com. This would include help and support for GreenSpector tooling on optimizing your application and monitor your software ecodesign (supports only Android so far).
